We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our dynamic inpatient team on Dufferin Ward at The Horder Centre. Acting as a clinical role model, mentor, and leader, you will support the Ward Sister and wider team in maintaining exceptional standards of patient care, ensuring smooth daily operations, and contributing to the continuous development of the service.

This position includes shift-based work (days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays) and is ideal for an experienced, proactive nurse with a strong background in orthopaedics or surgical care, looking to step into or continue in a leadership role.

  • Takes responsibility for operational efficiency during out-of-hours periods.
  • Drives quality improvement through audits and governance initiatives.
  • Plays an active role in service development, mentoring, and change management.

About you:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RGN) with at least 2 years’ post-registration experience.
  • UK-Based Orthopaedic or surgical nursing experience is highly desirable.
  • Hold a recognised mentorship/PS/PA qualification (or willing to obtain).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, prioritise workloads, and manage shift operations.
  • A passionate and empathetic professional, committed to patient-centred care.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to develop both clinically and professionally.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to support both patients and colleagues.
  • Aligned with our values of Caring, Friendly, Quality, Integrity and Pride.
