Are you passionate about food and eager to grow your culinary skills? We’re looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our dynamic catering team at The Horder Centre. This is your chance to work alongside experienced chefs in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes meet our high standards.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow “clean as you go” practices.
  • Prepare and serve sandwiches, salads, and staff salad bar items.
  • Support meal service and manage kitchen waste processes.
  • Work closely with front and back-of-house teams to ensure allergen information is communicated accurately.
  • Complete daily food production logs and adhere to food safety regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Great communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Level 2 Food Safety (training can be provided).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.

Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough
Contract Type: Permanent, 37.50 hours per week
Work Pattern: Working 5 out of 7 days on Mon - Sun shift times are 7am - 3pm with an occasional 10:30 am - 6:30pm.
Salary: Between £24,076 - £24,624 per annum
