In this vital role, you’ll help deliver fresh, nutritious and beautifully presented meals for our patients, staff and visitors. You’ll support our chefs with food preparation, maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards, assist with meal services, and ensure allergen information is communicated accurately. You will work within a well‑organised kitchen environment where teamwork, precision and quality truly matter.

What you’ll do:
- Preparing and presenting food to high standards
- Supporting salad bar preparation, patient meals and staff catering
- Keeping food safety records, HACCP documents and cleaning schedules up to date
- Ensuring a safe, clean and efficient kitchen environment
- Working collaboratively with Hotel Services and catering colleagues
- Upholding the centre’s values and delivering great customer service
About you:
- Level 2 Food Safety (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- High personal standards of hygiene and professionalism
- Catering or kitchen experience is an advantage but not essential
- Proactive and forward thinking, with a passion for continued learning.

Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead
Contract Type: Permanent, 30 hours per week
Working Pattern: Flexible Monday to Sunday, 4 out of 7 days with shifts ranging from 7 am to 6.30pm
Pro-rata Salary: £19,905.60 per annum + up to £5k through any overtime and enhanced weekend rates
