What you'll be doing
As a Ward Host, you’ll be at the heart of our patient dining experience, ensuring meals are delivered safely, efficiently, and with a smile. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking and accurately recording food and beverage orders for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Preparing trays and trolleys in line with individual meal requirements.
- Supporting the preparation of sandwiches, salads, and beverages.
- Delivering food and drinks to a high standard of service and presentation.
- Ensuring all dietary and allergen requirements are understood and followed.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment at all times.
You’ll also help monitor feedback, manage stock levels, restock service areas, and support with cleaning and washing-up tasks when needed.
About you
We’re seeking someone who is:

- Organised and able to follow processes and standards
Desirable:
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
- Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to complete training)
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday: 7:00am - 3pm I 11am - 7pm
Salary: up to £24,882.00 per annum, depending on experience
